What can I do for you?
I have decades of experience writing about the natural world, history and heritage for audiences of many types and am happy to continue to do so. Please get in touch if you’d like me to contribute to your publication or organisation in this way.
Recent experience includes my four books (‘I Ate Sunshine For Breakfast’, ‘Smart Animals’, ‘A Jungle In Your Living Room’ and ‘The Little Gardener’s Handbook’ which are expanded upon in the ‘Writing’ section.
Additional writing has included:
• Several articles for ‘Simply Beautiful Gardens’ magazine.
• Over 20 gardening articles for BBC Gardener’s World website
Illustrated talks I’ve given in the past include the following titles:
• Five Plants That Changed the World
• There’s No Such Thing as a Houseplant
•State of the Art Healing Plants
• Tales from the Fruit Bowl - A series of 4 talks on beloved fruits' stories, history, geography, folklore, symbolism, botany, nutrition, chemistry & more. Each talk highlights a plant family with notable members:
○ Zest & the Rest - the Citrus family
○ Gourd Almighty - the Cucurbitaceae family
○ Saucy & Spicy - the Solanaceae family
○ Core & More - the Rosaceae family
• The 12 Plants of Christmas - Wreaths, Raisins & Roasties - a delve into the backstories and folklore of some common festive favourites.
• London's Parks and Gardens
• Food is Medicine
• Container Gardening for Food and Medicines.
These are typically 45 minutes to an hour in length and can be in person or online.

• Giving pond restoration advice to Stepney City Farm with native flora & fauna and accessibility in mind.
• Sharing insights & experience with the team at Bowwood House & Gardens, Wiltshire -helping them to develop their educational schools programme.
